was the (!) high-end Mercedes-Benz luxury sedan offered in several versions worldwide

its few competitors included certain models of Rolls Royce & Bentley
Cadillac Fleetwood 75 and the stretched Lincoln Continental Lehman-Peterson and the Chrysler Imperial.

The 600 was the company’s flagship and most expensive model of its time
